The website enables you to make donations for charities through the BetterNow fundraising platform.

Any personal information you specifically provide when donating to a charity is processed by the charity you choose to donate to, in their role as data controller and in accordance with the selected charity’s privacy policy which is linked to whenever you donate. BetterNow is ‘only’ data processor in this case.

When you register a user with the https://dinindsamling.danmarksindsamling.dk website to publish and administrate your own fundraiser or team, BetterNow process your personal information in our role as a Data Controller.

We take the processing of your personal information seriously. We process your personal information in accordance with this Privacy and Personal Information Policy (hereinafter "Privacy Policy").

In the following we will inform you about your rights as a registered user with us and how we treat and protect your personal information. We recommend that you save these guidelines locally.

The basis for our processing of your personal information is to fulfil an agreement with you where we give you access to our fundraising platform.

1. Personal Information We Collect

1.1. When you create a profile and register on our Website, we collect the following personal information about you:
  • Your first and last name.
  • Your password.
  • Your email address.
  • Your phone number.
  • If your user is an administrator of a charity profile, then we also collect your title and information on your employment with the charity.
  • We also store data about your actions and activities on the Homepage, such as your donation history, current and past fundraising pages, events you have participated in and other actions taken on the Website.
  • We register your IP-addresses through the use of cookies, this is for analytical purposes in order to optimise the Website, fraud & security investigation and fraud prevention.
We are the data controller for this personal information. We are also the data controller for the transmission of this personal information to our Data Processor, cf. Section 3.

1.2. You may voluntarily choose to attach additional information to your profile, for example, your date of birth and address information. This information is processed in your interest, and you have control over the additional personal information we have about you.

2. Use of your Personal Information

2.1. The purpose of collecting your personal information is to manage your use of our fundraising platform, including providing support, sending you receipts for donations, improving the Website and our services (hereinafter "the Purpose").

2.2. We disclose Personal Information to the organisations that you create fundraising pages for or for which you donate money.

2.3. We only process personal information about you that is relevant and adequate to fulfil the Purpose. The same applies to the amount of personal information we collect.

2.4. We do not use your personal information for purposes other than the original Purpose, unless the new purpose is clearly compatible with the original Purpose or unless you have previously given your consent.

2.5. To ensure the quality of your personal information, we have adopted internal rules and procedures for checking and updating your personal information.

2.5.1. However, we are dependent on your personal information being correct and up to date. Therefore, we ask you to provide us with any relevant changes related thereto. You can use the contact information in section 7 to notify us of your changes.

3. Storage of your Personal Information

3.1. Your personal information is stored with selected external companies (hereinafter "the Data Processor"). We use data processors both within the EU and in The United States. You consent to us using Data Processors in unsecure third countries such as the USA, provided that there is a legal framework governing the transfer of your personal data and ensuring adequate protection of the personal data.

3.2. The Data Processor acts solely as a data processor in relation to the personal information for which we are data controllers.

3.3. The Data Processor only processes data according to instructions from us.

3.4. We make sure that the Data Processor has taken the necessary technical and organizational security measures against that your personal information is accidentally or illegally destroyed, lost or impaired, and against their knowledge, misused or otherwise treated in violation of any current and relevant legislation on the processing of personal information.

4. Security of your Personal Information

4.1. We will ensure that we in addition to the above and in general have adopted appropriate security measures.

4.2. We have internal rules on information security which contain instructions that ensure that only those of our employees who have a factual purpose have access to and may use your personal information.

4.3. We have taken appropriate measures to protect your personal information against accidental or illegal destruction, loss or deterioration, and against disclosure, misuse or otherwise being treated in violation of the rules governing the processing of personal information at any time.

5. Deletion of your Personal Information

5.1. We keep only personal information as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purpose, fulfillment of legal requirements or a claim according to a contract with our customers. We also store personal data for statistical use and these personal data are used in a single and anonymous database for statistical analysis.

5.2. The personal information you have provided in connection with the creation of a fundraising page will be deleted within 12 months after the fundraising page has been deleted.

5.3. If you have donated money via a fundraising page, your personal information will be deleted from our database at the earliest 6 months after the fundraising page is deleted and the latest 2 years after the fundraising page is deleted. If you have donated, but not via a fundraising page, your data will be deleted at the earliest after 6 months and at the latest after 2 years. The charity may keep your personal data for longer, please see their privacy policy.

5.5. In cases where you have provided your tax registration number for obtaining a tax deduction, this will be deleted after the tax authorities latest deadline for reporting tax deductions.

6. Your Rights

6.1. You have the right at any time to know what personal information we have collected and which we keep and process about you.

6.2. You may at any time require correction, objection or limited processing of your personal information.

6.3. You can at any time delete all of your personal information. Simply click the red button labelled "Delete my account" from your profile page.
